TOPEKA, Kan., May 31, 2008 - Dave Connolly entered the final day of time trials with his Charter Communications Chevy Cobalt sitting at the top of the Pro Stock qualifying ladder. Today the 25 year-old Mooresville, N.C. resident improved on his Friday time with a 6.720 second run at 204.51 mph to earn his first raceday pole of the season, and his first at Heartland Park Topeka. It was also the sixth career No. 1 qualifying spot for Connolly who is trying to break into the top 10 of the points standings after sitting out the first five events of 2008. He is currently 14th in the standings, 83 points behind 10th-place Ron Krisher.
