I challenge Top Gear ! Part 1
Length: 06:37
I challenge Top Gear to inspire England. Convince them to create 2 vehicles that combines microcar, kitcar and being made out of rivetted plates.Top Gear could contact technical schools, universities, firms, volenteers, retired guys from old airplane-firms, whatever ...Is Top Gear ...and England ...ready for that challenge? Please, don't contact Top Gear directly to tell them about this video. They have to find out themselves. How can you help? Read the bottom of this text. All I hope to see as a result is a set of plans from which plates can be cut (CNC) so it will become more "put A on B and fix with rivets"-kind of construction. Engine, steeringsystem and suspension and so may be used from existing vehicles. But ... please ... all from a single marque if possible. Don't make it a hard job to find the parts. As engine I would propose a maxi-scooter. Front suspension from a quad maybe. The canopy will be a challenge. Not canvas, please. Not all persons can sew.May two vehicles? One for city-folks who want to slide through traffic-jams. THe other for those who don't dare to ride narrow-track or just prefer more wheels. Why this challenge? Well, to my honest opinion many car-manufacturers have forgotten that many persons cannot afford their cars. They add too much stuff. Sadly, most is being forced from the gouvernment. I always ask myself "Where is the replacement of the Citroën 2CV?"Many say that it was not safe to drive it. Well, motorcycles are not safe too. And still a lot are being driven. It is all about making a choice. What do you want? A tank-protection or ...low costs? You could wait till the electric car becomes overpopular. But ...that will still take a lot of time. And gouvernments will sure think up some tax to get that low cost riding more expensive. All we can do is increase mpg by lesser weight, small front-area, better aerodynamics (enclosed) and a engine that can just deliver what is needed. Not something that can ride 160 mph on highways (80 mph). Still it has to be highway-able.Ok, I started this challenge. Now ... it is all up to you. Make this videos counter get skyhigh so Top Gear will see there is a real demand for something like this. And ... while checking some youtube films they probably will see this one. Cross your thumbs!
