A darkly comic foray into a strange suburban world, Hope Sullivan's highly stylized and unusual black comedy MUSCLE CAR follows Lemonade, a suburban teen who runs away from home trying to escape her "mush" life and realize her dreams, only to fall in love with the wanna-be car thief (Riqui). Lemonade convinces Riqui to return to the creepy suburbs to steal the ultimate 'muscliest' muscle car of them all. MUSCLE CAR is a funky, funny, violent fable of the whirlwind of teenage love, fast cars and the clash of 'trasher' city and 'mush' suburban cultures, in a fictitious time and place where violence is the norm and adults are as degenerate as the youth.
