Car music. Auto song.

Car music. Auto song. One of the best original car songs. Fast and popular. Most car songs for advertising come from famous pop artists or well known songs. You can pay a fortune to use a well known song from The Beatles (if you can get it) or from someone like Bruce Springsteen (if your lucky). I remember a motor car company wanted to use Bruce Springsteen's 'Born In The USA' for advertising. I don't think he agreed to that. Even though popular songs sound right they may be inappropriate for use in a commercial selling someting. For instance, a popular song may be about drug use or some other unacceptable theme that a company does't want to be, or shouldn't be associated with. This song you're listening to is totally original. It was made to sell cars. Using a well known song is the easy way out for many companies and their advertising agencies. Many find it too hard to create something new and fresh, but in the long run it's worth it. Not just in saving money but the music and song can only be identified with that company. Electric Light Orchestra's "Mr. Blue Sky" was used in a Volkswagen Beetle ad. The Yardbirds' "For Your Love" in a Saturn ad. The Clash's "London Calling" in a Jaguar ad, and Prince's "Little Red Corvette" for Chevrolet. Mercedes-Benz even used Janis Joplin's song 'Mercedes-Benz' to sell cars. Using Janis Joplin's anti-materialist song to sell a car that costs a fortune is not a good idea.I think even Steppenwolf's song 'Magic Carpet Ride' was used in car commercial. Mercedes-Benz have even used Sam Cooke's song '(I Love You) For Sentimental Reasons. Using a popular hit song in a TV commercial is often more of an attempt by the advertiser to hijack the meaning of the song, and the history a listener has with it, and re-frame that onto the product being advertised. The song has nothing to do with the product. In most cases their messages are diametrically opposed. Case in point, the current Cadillac ad campaign that uses Led Zeppelin's song 'Rock'n Roll'. Ford has used the song 'What a Wonderful World'. Ford has also used 'The Funeral', by Band of Horses. Chevrolet went one better in their Super Bowl commercial. They put 'Chevrolet' in the lyrics from all kinds of songs recorded over the last 50 years. It features various celebrities singing along with famous songs with 'Chevrolet' in the lyrics. Song's included Elton John's 'Crocodile Rock', the Beach Boys song '409'.Of course you can't have a car ad without Elvis Presley. Honda used 'Burning Love' by Elvis. One of the most outrageous misrepresentation of a song must be the Nissan Maxima commercial featuring the Smiths 'How Soon Is Now?' It has to be one of the most depressing tunes ever used to sell anything. Lyrics: 'There's a club if you'd like to go/ you could meet somebody who really loves you/ so you go, and you stand on your own/ and you leave on your own/ and you go home, and you cry/ and you want to die.'There's also the Nissan commercial with the old Who hit 'Won't Get Fooled Again'. The lyrics weren't used - no wonder. Lyrics - Here comes the new boss/Same as the old boss/I get down on my knees and pray/That I won't get fooled again!'Mitsubishi used Groove Armada's 'I See you baby' in a commercial. The lyrics are 'I see you baby, shakin' that ass'. They changed that to 'I see you baby, shakin' that thing'.'Turn it on Again' by Genesis (Phil Collins) has been featured in several Dodge ads this past year.Songs by The Chemical Brothers, Barenaked Ladies, Styx, Sting and Moby have also turned up in car ads. Some more...Buick Rendezvous: Superstition - Stevie WonderDodge: Just Push Play - AerosmithLexus: Shoo Fly Pie and Apple Pan Dowdy - Dinah ShoreLexus: Summer Wind - Lyle LovettMazda Miata: High Roller - Crystal MethodMercedes M-Class: Robots - Balanescu QuartetMitsubishi: Ooh La La - Rod StewartMitsubishi: Ready To Go - RepublicaMitsubishi: 20th Century Boy - T RexNissan: Walking On The Moon - The PoliceNissan Xterra: Fly Away - Lenny KravitzNissan 300ZX: You Really Got Me - Van HalenToyota: Saved By Zero - The FixxVolkswagen Cabrio: Pink Moon - Nick DrakePeter Barnes created this song and concept on this video.Do you want to get moving...drive...drive.Energetic music that had a driving beat.Great Auto advertising concept for a motor company, like Nissan or any other car manufacturer.
